Text assist
A rewrite control on free-text fields. It takes text you wrote and re-expresses it.
The five modes

The rule
It may only re-express information already present. It never adds clinical content.
Expand does not mean invent. Asked to expand "SOB on exertion, improving", it will write that out properly — it will not add a respiratory rate, a differential, or a detail you did not give it.
Using it
Write your note, then use the rewrite control on the field. You get the rewritten version to accept or reject; your original is not overwritten until you accept it.
What to check
- Medical terminology mode changes meaning if the original was ambiguous. Where your wording could map to more than one clinical term, check which one it picked.
- Concise mode drops things you may have wanted. Check nothing clinically load-bearing was tightened away.
- The record should still sound like you. A note in a voice that is not yours is harder to stand behind later.
Why it cannot be queued
Text assist is not offered for queueing when there is no signal. A queued rewrite would return later and land on text you have since edited — replacing your newer words with a rewrite of your older ones. Rewrite when you have a connection.
