The floating toolbox

A draggable button sits at the bottom-left of the content area. Tap it and it fans out into a set of small tool windows.

The tools

Tool	What it does
Notepad	A private scratch-pad for typed notes and finger or stylus sketches.
Stopwatch	Counts up. Keeps running with its window closed.
Countdown timer	Counts down, alarms, and keeps counting past zero.
Calculator	Four-function arithmetic.
Overdose calculator	mg/kg for a dose already taken. Its own page.

Window behaviour

Several tools can be open at once. Each window can be dragged, minimised to its title bar, or closed.

Windows are always kept inside the content area — one that escaped off the edge would be gone rather than merely untidy, so MedJot clamps every position, including ones restored after you resized the ePRF panel.

Drag the button itself anywhere you like; its position is remembered. If you used the old notepad button, the toolbox inherits exactly where you had put it.

The notepad

A scratch-pad, not part of the report. Nothing you write or draw in it reaches the ePRF, the PDF or the AI tools.

It is cleared when you reset the report, because it is working-out for the patient in front of you.

The stopwatch and timer

Both are derived from the clock rather than counted down in the app. This matters more than it sounds:

• A backgrounded tab does not break them. Phone browsers throttle or suspend tabs that are not on screen, and anything decrementing internally comes back wrong. On a two-minute CPR cycle that is not a cosmetic problem.
• A reload resumes correctly. The timer knows when it should end, not how much is left.
• The countdown runs negative past zero rather than stopping, because the overrun is usually the number you want.

The alarm sounds whether or not the timer window is open. A timer you have to keep on screen is a timer you cannot walk away from, which defeats the point of setting one.

If you want a system notification as well as the sound, MedJot asks for notification permission when you press Start — never on load, so the prompt is always attached to something you just asked for.
