The daily free report limit

Free accounts can start a limited number of new reports per day. Premium removes the cap, and so does an organisation seat.

How it counts

A report counts when it stops being blank — the first finding, the first note, the first anything. Opening MedJot and looking at an empty form costs nothing.

Choosing a NEWS2 scale also does not count. It is a setup choice about the patient rather than report content, and it should not by itself spend a free report.

The count resets daily. Your current position is shown in the connection indicator panel and in Account → Membership.

A report in progress is never interrupted

Reaching the limit never affects a report you are already writing. The check happens when a new report starts, not while one is open. You can always finish, export and file what is in front of you.

This is the one thing that matters clinically about the limit, and it is why the check sits where it does.

What you see at the limit

Starting a new report past the limit raises a full-screen prompt offering the upgrade. Options at that point:

  • Upgrade — the limit is lifted immediately.
  • Finish tomorrow — the count resets.
  • Finish the current report — always available; the prompt only blocks starting a new one.

Why there is a limit at all

The clinical core of MedJot is free and stays free. The daily cap is what makes that sustainable: it keeps the app fully usable for occasional use and for trying it properly, while people documenting a full shift every shift are the ones being asked to pay.

If the count looks wrong

The count is kept server-side, so it is not affected by clearing your browser or moving devices.

If you were offline when you started a report, the count reconciles when you reconnect. If it still looks wrong, raise a ticket — include roughly when you started the reports.
