Presentation types

The selector at the top of the app chooses which set of sections MedJot shows you. Pick it at the start of the report.

Adult Medical​

The default. Standard medical presentation for patients aged 16 and over — medical, trauma and general emergency calls. Full SOAP structure with the complete set of examination sections.

Child Medical​

Paediatric presentations, under 16. Adds child-specific assessment including TICLS (Tone, Interactivity, Consolability, Look, Speech) for the paediatric assessment triangle.

Marked beta.

Mental Health​

Mental health and behavioural presentations. Adds mental state examination — appearance, behaviour, thought, mood and insight — alongside Mental Capacity Act assessment.

Cardiac Arrest​

Cardiac arrest and peri-arrest documentation following the RCUK ALS algorithm, including the reversible causes as 4Hs and 4Ts.

Switching mid-report​

You can change presentation type at any point, and nothing is deleted.

If the new mode has no field for a finding you already recorded, that finding is hidden, not removed. MedJot tells you how many findings are affected when you switch. Switch back and they reappear exactly as they were.

This matters because the mode you need is not always the mode you started in — a call that begins as an adult medical presentation and becomes a cardiac arrest is common, and losing the assessment you already documented at that moment would be unacceptable.
